Events & Current Exhibits

The Powers Art Center is open to the public from 10:00AM  to 3:00PM, Monday through Thursday.  The exception to these hours may be for scheduled maintenance, holidays, or weather related closures.

Jasper Johns
As we celebrate our 5th anniversary year we have just installed a New exhibit of Jasper Johns limited edition works on paper. The new exhibit opens on June 10th and will be on display until May 2020. The exhibition is inspired by an exhibit that opened at the Royal Academy of Arts in London in 2017, entitled "Something Resembling Truth".  The same exhibition then traveled to the Broad Museum in Los Angeles in 2018.  The works take the viewer on a Journey thru several themes that inspired the curation of the exhibit, visiting  Jasper Johns iconic Flags, Targets and Numbers as well as other master prints that explore the depth of Johns work.

The current exhibit also chronicles the history of Jasper Johns print making at Universal Limited Art Editions (ULAE) in New York  with works dating from 1960 to 2018

Takashi Nakazato
The Powers Art Center also exhibits an extensive collection of Takashi Nakazato ceramic works.  Takashi is the 13th generation in his family to create traditional Karatsu ceramics and has been part of the Powers collection for decades.

Please send your contact information through the "CONTACT US" link on the right if you would like to be added to our e-mail list for future educational events.
